Method and apparatus for controlling traffic of radio access network in a wireless communication system

PURPOSE: A traffic controlling method of a radio access network (RAN) in a radio communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to control the traffic depending on the subscription information of user equipment (UE), the characteristic of service/application, and the amount of traffic which is transmitted and received, when the congestion is occurred to a user plane (UP) in which the UE data is transmitted and received. CONSTITUTION: A transmission unit (1105) and a receiving unit (1101) obtain either the subscription class information of a UE user or the information of application or content type. A control unit (1103) determines whether the congestion situation is generated in a RAN or not. If the congestion situation is generated, the control unit controls the traffic of the UE based on the obtained information. The subscription class information of the user of the UE is included in the subscription information obtained in the initial context setting procedure of the UE.
