Cestodes from the Eastern Wild Turkey

1931
In a collection of cestodes from hosts at one time in the Philadelphia Gardens are three vials of material from the Eastern Wild Turkey. These worms are of particular interest because of the close relationship existing between the Eastern Wild Turkey and the domestic turkey, and because of the fact that although one of the three species (Metroliasthes lucida) represented in the collection has been reported from the domestic turkey, the other two are new. Both of the new species belong to the genus Davainea, a genus of cestodes having many species parasitic in birds, both wild and domestic, and several in mammals.
