Polycarbonates: a long-term highly sensitive radon monitor

Abstract An approach for long-term (either retrospective or prospective) 222 Rn measurements is proposed that is based on the combination of the high radon absorption ability of some polycarbonates with their alpha track-etch properties. The detection limit is projected to be −3 for an exposure time of 20 yr.
