En el presente trabajo se exponen los resultados del analisis tecno-morfologico del conjunto artefactual litico procedente de una pequena cueva que compone un sector del Sitio 2 de la localidad arqueologica Amalia (LAA). El sitio se encuentra en un pequeno cerro ubicado en un ambiente de transicion entre las sierras de Tandilia y Llanura Interserrana Bonaerense. El objetivo central es interpretar y discutir el contexto arqueologico correspondiente a la ocupacion humana basal datada en la transicion Pleistoceno-Holoceno. Este sitio fue utilizado de modo efimero y presenta materiales arqueologicos producidos sobre rocas transportadas desde afloramientos cercanos del sitio, de la region de Tandilia, como otras rocas cuya procedencia corresponde a lugares distantes que superan los 500 km. Se analiza tambien el contexto geoarqueologico donde se hallaron los artefactos liticos, el cual responde a un cambio en la sedimentacion vinculado a oscilaciones en las condiciones paleoclimaticas propias del inicio de ciclos mas humedos. Abstract In this paper, we present the results of techno-morphological analysis carried on lithic artifacts from the site 2 of Amalia archaeological locality (LAA). This site is nestled on a small hill located in a transitional environment between two geological provinces: the Tandilia range and the Pampas plains. Our main goal is interpreting and discussing the archaeological context of the oldest human occupation dated to the Pleistocene-Holocene transition. The place was used as an ephemeral camp and presents evidences of many archaeological artifacts produced on different rock types transported from different regions of the Tandilia hills, as well as other rocks from sources located at 500 km from the site. In regard to the geoarchaeological context, the analyses show a change in the sedimentation, which is related to the fluctuations of the climatic conditions and indicate wetter cycles in the beginning of the Holocene.
