Effect of depolarization on second-order nonlinear optical susceptibilities in AlxGa1-xN/GaN single quantum well
2020
The effect of depolarization field on second-order nonlinear nonlinear optical susceptibilities due to resonant intersubband transition in AlxGa1-xN/GaN single quantum well has been studied theoretically. The electronic structures are obtained by solving the self-consitent Kohn-Sham equation within the frame work of effective mass approximation. The analytic expression for the second-order nonlinear optical susceptibilities are obtained in the compact density matrix formulation with relaxation-time approximation. The result showed that without and with depolarization effects the second-order optical susceptibilities are found to get red and blue shifted, respectively. The depolarization effect enhanced the resonant energy.
