A Case Report of Osteomyelitis of Bilateral Clavicles

1983
There are similar characteristic symptoms and signs of so called Sterno-Kosto-Klavikulare Hyperostose (Kohler) or Inter-Sterno-Costo Claviclar Ossification, bilateral osteomyelitis of the clavicles. Those consist of swelling and pain, abnormal hyperossification of proximal segments of bilateral clavicles mainly, accompanied with hyperossification of sternum and ribs.We have recently experienced a case who had buldging and hyperossification of bilateral clavicles, upper-sternum and the first ribs. And there were infectious signs that consist of elevated ESR, positive CRP and leucocytosis. Then thier symptoms and signs were improved by antibiotics. So we thought that this case was sclerosing osteomyelitis of bilateral clavicles, but we did not find the evidence of the pathological features of osteomyelitis.
