Advances in tuberculosis diagnostics.

A world wide effort is under way to develop new tools to diagnose tuberculosis spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO) under its Tuberculosis Diagnostic Initiative (TBDI). This article discusses the advanced diagnostics being developed and highlights the feasibility of use of these technologies in the public health facilities involved in tuberculosis control in India.
