Osteomyelitis concomitant with psoriasis

2002
: The paper presents a case of child suffered from osteomyelitis concomitant with psoriasis. Similar clinical and radiological course was observed in another two cases. The disease was chronic, recurrent and school children were affected. Normal temperature and increased blood sedimentation were observed. Enlarged of metaphysis, "marbled" structure of the bone with many little osteolitical focus and thickening of cortical bone were observed, too. This disease was progressive and the whole of the diaphysis was affected. Pus was never found during operation. The bone was fragile sclerotic in some places, with thickened periosteum. Histopathological examination indicated chronic osteomyelitis. Bacteriological examination was always negative. The treatment performed usually in acute osteomyelitis wasn't effective.
