Polyorchidism: Report of a case and review of the literature

2006
Abstract Polyorchidism is a very rare developmental anomaly, in which more than two testes are present. The literature on polyorchidism was reviewed and variability of this rare anomaly is discussed. A 21-year-old man presented with a long history of a left scrotal lump that was otherwise asymptomatic. MRI shows isointensity of the scrotal lump with the two other testicles on T1W and T2W images and the typical shape of the testicles were helpful in diagnosis. In conclusion, in the diagnosis of scrotal lump, the supernumerary testes must be suggested and MR imaging is helpful in the diagnosis.
