The invention discloses a metal and glass seal structure for an alkali metal sample cell. The metal and glass seal structure comprises a metal tube with a wedge-shaped baffle ring, a glass window sheet and a threaded pressing ring. At normal temperature and normal pressure, the glass window sheet is extruded by the threaded pressing ring to make close contact with the thinner portion of the inner edge of the wedge-shaped baffle ring in the metal tube. At high temperature and high pressure, alkali metal vapor and alkane buffer gas are expanded to outwards extrude the wedge-shaped baffle ring to enable the thinner portion of the inner edge of the wedge-shaped baffle ring to be deformed, and therefore the contact area and extruding force between the wedge-shaped baffle ring and the glass window sheet are further increased; accordingly, the good seal performance at high temperature and high pressure is shown, and according to the seal structure, the temperature changing range of the sample cell is allowed to be within 50 DEG C. According to the metal and glass seal structure, a seal washer does not need to be adopted, the problems such as chemical reaction generated between the alkali metal vapor and organic matter and poor seal performance brought by uneven metal expansion are avoided, the structure is simple, and machining is easy to achieve.
