Concept of Vrana wsr to Vrana Chikitsa

Wound care and management always remained the topic of discussion from the ancient period. The history of wound care spans from pre-history to modern medicine. Wound care evoked from magical enchanting’s, position and ointments, to a systemic text of wound care and surgery in Ayurveda texts. Ancient Indian branch concerning surgery, Shalya Tantra was highly skilled branch among Astanga Ayuveda. Acharya Sushruta (father of surgery) contributed a lot in wound management. A lot of references concerning Dushta Vrana and Vrana Chikitsa are found in ancient literature. This article try to highlight the summery based on the refrences of Vrana as per Ayurvedic text.
