Device for visually supporting an electrophysiology catheter application in the heart, with - one or more input interfaces (14, 15) for electroanatomical 3D mapping data (3) and 3D image data, - a segmentation module (11), which is designed for segmenting the 3D image data to extract a 3D surface profile contained within a recorded with the 3D image data volume objects, - associated one with the segmentation module (11), registration module (12) for automatic position- and dimensionally correct assignment of the electroanatomical 3D mapping data (3) and of the 3D surface profile forming 3D image data by surface matching of the 3D surface path from the 3D image data with a 3D surface profile from the 3D mapping data (3) is formed in at least one stage of the registration, and - associated one with the registration module (12) visualization module (13), the position- the 3D mapping data (3) and at least the 3D surface profile forming 3D image data and dimensionally properly superimposed on one another and for visualization with a display unit (6) provides.
