Preparation and characterization of dispersed “cobalt oxide” supported on γ-Al2O3

Abstract Samples of “cobalt oxide” supported on γ-Al 2 O 3 were prepared from a variety of precursors. The samples were characterized by X-ray analysis, temperature-programmed reduction, and measurement of magnetic susceptibility. Their properties were compared with those of bulk Co 3 O 4 and CoAl 2 O 4 and the observed differences were related to the method of preparation.
