Teaching the Process View of Smoking Cessation to Primary Health Care Professionals

1995
In 1992, six courses were run in the Wessex region of England for a total of 57 primary health care professionals in smoking cessation counselling skills, according to a waiting list control design, which has been described elsewhere (1). All participants completed an end-of-course questionnaire, and the purpose of this paper is to present participants’ views of particular course components, as well as their evaluation of the extent to which their expectations of, and anxieties about, the course were met or alleviated.
