ReSe2-TiS2 heterojunction saturable absorber in mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser

Abstract Combined the different photoelectric properties such as modulation depth and modulation bandwidth, 2D nanomaterials are regarded as the promising materials for saturable absorbers (SAs). In this paper, we measured the linear and nonlinear transmission spectrums of the ReSe2-TiS2 nanosheet, and the results show that ReSe2-TiS2 nanosheet has a broad transmission range. Moreover, the Raman spectrum shows that the ReSe2-TiS2 heterojunction was formed. By using the ReSe2-TiS2 heterojunction saturable absorber (SA), the mode-locked operation was demonstrated in Nd:YVO4 laser. With pump power of 4 W, maximum output power was 324 mW with pulse width of 6.7 ps and repetition rate of 50 MHz.
