Ambulante psychodynamische Kurzgruppenpsychotherapie bei Patienten mit somatoformen Störungen

2007
The effectiveness of short-term psychodynamic group therapy with patients with somatoform disorders is being demonstrated. Six groups over 20 sessions each with a total of 50 patients were proven to result in high effect sizes regarding symptomatic, interpersonal, and functional burdens one year after having finished treatments. Further process research revealed relevant predictors in respect to treatment outcome. While a personality disorder comorbidity was significantly related with poor treatment outcome, an ability to relate emotionally positively with one's group right from the beginning of the group is significantly correlated with treatment outcome. Con- sequences in regards to treatment duration of patients with somatoform disorders are discussed.
