Landsat Tm Eiased Crop Inventory For A Region In Hungary

The Landsat TM based crop area estimation methods have been validated on a complex 1.7 million hectares, three counties sample (19%) in Hungary. Some improvements in the common stratification and sampling design procedures were elaborated and tested. For the major crops the area estimates using satellite data are very good, and the expansion using historical regression is remarkable. The approach seems to be adequate in the future national crop information system.
