Clinical study on nursing intervention on atomizing inhalation to prevent postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with off-pump coronary artery bypass graft

2013
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on atomizing inhalation on preventing postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with off-pump coronary artery bypass graft. Methods The medical records of 63 cases with the off-pump coronary artery bypass graft were analyzed retrospectively.Patients were randomly divided into intervention group and control group. The atomizing inhalation was given besides the routine treatment in two groups: the active nursing intervention was employed in the intervention group including coordination skills, methods, body postion, temperature and flow rate of atomized liquid;control group was given usual care. Results In two groups the angina disappeared after the operation;the patients were cured and the operative death did not happen. The postoperative hospitalization time of the two groups were respectively 7.84 d in the intervention group and 10.31 d in the control group and there was statistic significance(t = 2.414,P 0.05).The incidence of pulmonary infection of the intervention group(16.67%) was significantly lower than that of the control group(39.39%)(χ 2 =3.98,P 0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention on atomizing inhalation can effectively prevent postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with off-pump coronary artery bypass graft.
