Emergência e crescimento inicial de feijão-fava e de cebolinha sob ação do extrato aquoso de folhas de Enterolobium contortisiliquum

2021
ABSTRACT: The possibility of cultivating agricultural crops combined with forest species, in addition to helping to preserve the diversity of existing species, recovers degraded areas, and generates agronomic and economic benefits for farmers. In this context, the objective of this study was to verify a possible allelopathic action of the aqueous extract of tamboril (Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong) leaves on the emergence and initial growth of fava bean (Phaseolus lunatus L.) and chive (Allium fistulosum L.) seedlings. In the tests, the aqueous extract of monkfish leaves was evaluated in five concentrations (10; 25; 50; 75 and 100%), and as a control (0%) mineral water was used. A completely randomized design with five replications of 20 seeds per treatment for each culture was used. After the extracts were prepared, the seeds of fava beans and chives were sown in polyethylene trays. At the end of the tests, the percentage of emergence was evaluated; the speed index and the average emergency time; the length and dry mass of the aerial part and the root system. The aqueous extract of monkfish leaves, in all concentrations used, did not affect the emergence and the initial growth of fava bean seedlings, however, completely inhibited the emergence of chive seedlings. KEYWORK: allelopathy, intercropping cultivation, forest species.
