A Numerical Loss Analysis of High Step-down DC-DC Converter using Dual 2-stage Cockcroft-Walton Circuit

High step-down DC-DC converters and rectifiers are required from power grid system to low-voltage and large-current applications, such as a battery charger, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a data center, and so on. This research establishes reducing the number of stage of transformer and reducing loss made by active components by using a proposed dual 2-stage Cockcroft-Walton circuit. This paper numerically analyzes a detailed loss in the proposed high step-down DC-DC converter. The results suggest improving efficiency of the proposed high step-down DC-DC converter.
