Spinal cord ischemia and gluteal skin necrosis following infrarenal aortic aneurysm repair: a case report

1994
In this report, a case of spinal cord ischemia and gluteal skin necrosis, following infrarenal aortic aneurysm repair is presented. The major etiologic factor precipitating this condition is believed to be the interruption of both internal iliac arteries. To prevent these complications the authors believe that at least one of the internal iliac arteries should be revascularized to prevent microembolism and hypotension.
