Optimization of the neutron guide system for the time-of-flight spectrometer at the FRM-II

We present the design of the guide system for the new time-of-#ight spectrometer at the cold source of the new neutron source FRM-II. Using Monte-Carlo (MC) techniques we optimized the guide system with respect to maximal #ux at the sample position, low background of fast neutrons and high-energy resolution.
