TELEMATICS SYSTEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL AND COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC

In this paper, the authors suggest that advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) based on floating car data (FCD) are self sufficient in respect to data generation and usage. They examine problems of FCD- based traffic information systems and conclude that business and operational aspects have to be considered when designing a telematics systems for the logistics of commercial traffic.
