Sustainable groundwater resources use through efficient allocation

The increasing water shortage in combination with poorer water quality may lead to conflict unless sustainable measures that promote efficient utilization are put in place. This calls for new technologies which ensure sustainable exploitation of the resource. In this paper, we present such a tool which if applied to water resources will ensure efficient and sustainable utilization. The applicability of the method is demonstrated through an example. Results indicate that such a tool can lead to efficient allocation of water, hence guaranteeing sustainable utilization of the resource
