Comprehensive Evaluation Method of Energy Storage System Considering Benefits of Auxiliary Services

2020
With the integration of large-scale intermittent renewable energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaic, the safe and stable operation of the power system has been greatly challenged. The use of energy storage system to participate in peaking frequency modulation and other auxiliary services has attracted wide attention. As an important link in the process of energy storage planning, energy storage selection needs to consider various factors. This work proposes an energy storage selection method based on the combination of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and subjective weighting method. Firstly, a decision index system for energy storage selection was established by analyzing the working conditions of energy storage participating in auxiliary services of the power grid. Then, AHP and subjective weighting method are used to determine the weight coefficients of the first and second layer indexes respectively. Finally, the comprehensive scores of each energy storage system was obtained by using the energy storage performance scores and two-layer index weights. This method provides a theoretical basis for the planning of energy storage power station participating in power grid auxiliary services, and has certain engineering application value
