Synthesis of brominated novel N-heterocycles: new scaffolds for antimicrobial discovery

Abstract In this article, a number of novel brominated heterocycles based on aminobromopyrrolone, bromopyridazinone and hydrazinyl furanone scaffolds were synthesized from the reactions of brominated furanones with bi-nucleophiles, such as substituted or unsubstituted hydrazines. Some of these compounds were found to be effective quorum sensing (QS) inhibitors against Pseudomonas aeruginosa .
