Effect of statistical correlations of amplitudes in deep inelastic collisions of heavy ions

We analyze the expressions for energy spectra dsigma/dE and doubly differential cross sections d/sup 2/sigma/dtheta dE for deep inelastic heavy-ion reactions, averaged over many quantum channels. The energy spectrum and the doubly differential cross section are calculated for the reaction /sup 136/Xe+/sup 209/Bi (E/sub lab/ = 1130 MeV) in the phenomenological model of quasifission for various forms of the correlation function of the reaction partial amplitudes.
