Experimental Study on Effect of Unconstrained Explosion Venting on Methane-air Flame Propagation Characteristics

2013
An explosion venting tube experimental system was built up and used to study effect of unconstrained explosion venting on premixed methane-air flame propagation characteristics. The propagation characteristics of methane/air premixed flame were performed by test.A high speed schlieren photograph system was used to record the premixed flame microstructure and propagation behavior.A high frequency pressure sensor was used to acquire the changing pressure data. And the effect of pressure orifice ratio on flame propagation characteristics was discussed in detail. It was found that the reflected pressure wave had the relatively obvious interference effect on flame propagation velocity. The relation between the ratio and the propagation characteristics was figured out.The inflection point of propagation characteristics was obtained when the pressure orifice ratio was 30%,and could be used as the important reference value for designing of explosion venting.
