Intracellular Amino Acids in Children on Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis

1990
Reports of studies of intracellular amino acids (AAs) in children with chronic renal failure and, in particular, data on children treated by continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) are scanty.(1,2) Recently, polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) have been shown to be a reliable cell model for evaluating intracellular concentration of free AAs both in adults and in children with renal disease.(3) We report our experience of plasma and intracellular PMN AAs in children on CAPD.
