Elektronische Messrübe mit 6 Beschleunigungssensoren

For assessing low-damage operations in farm machines, various artificial fruits have been developed. For analysing the cleaning tools in sugar beet harvesters, these “electronic sugar beets” were designed at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Land Use Management in Halle. They have been redesigned and now, despite smaller measure-ments, have six acceleration sensors. This provides a considerably im-proved representation of the motion and acceleration behaviour of the cleaning tools. Additionally, their modular design makes it possible to integrate the sensors directly with the natural sugar beets and opens up the chance for a more comprehensive analysis of damage caused to sugar beets from different forces of impact.
