Growth of α-LiIo3 crystals of high piezoelectric and optical quality

Abstract The crystalline perfection and some physical properties of device-quality α-LiIo 3 crystals were investigated. The dependence of these properties on the conditions of crystal growth were investigated. Crystals were grown from solution by two methods. One involving free evaporation and the other a temperature gradient.
