Device and method for on-line measurement of abrasion loss of mechanical sealing end face based on technology of digital B-ultrasound imaging

2015
The invention discloses a method for the on-line measurement of abrasion loss of a mechanical sealing end face based on the technology of digital B-ultrasound imaging. A measurement system consists of an ultrasound probe, a digital B-ultrasound collection card, an interface card, and a computer. The ultrasound probe disposed in a sealed cavity is used for the linear scanning inspection of a movable ring and a static ring, and obtaining a B-ultrasound three-line black-white bitmap comprising a reference surface, a bonding surface, and a measurement surface, wherein the movable ring and the static ring are matched with each other. The number of pixels of the B-ultrasound three-line black-white bitmaps extracted at different moments in a process of mechanical sealing operation is compared with the number of pixels of the B-ultrasound three-line black-white bitmaps extracted before operation. The total abrasion loss of a tested mechanical sealing static ring and a mechanical sealing end face at different moments is obtained according to the product of the number of the lost pixels of the bonding surface and the measurement surface with the distance between pixels. The method is suitable for the measurement of the abrasion loss of a rotating friction pair, especially between mechanical sealing end faces, is high in precision, causes no contact, is simple in operation, and is high in instantaneity.
