A New Three-Parameter Generalized Berthelot Equation of State for Hydrocarbons: Superheat

A new three-parameter Berthelot-type equation of state is proposed for determining the high-temperature thermodynamic properties of hydrocarbons. The equation-of-state parameters are determined through the experimental data on the critical-point parameters of hydrocarbons. The equation of state is presented in the reduced form, from which follows the single-parameter law of corresponding states. The new three-parameter generalized Berthelot equation of state yields a good agreement with experimental results of maximum attainable superheat of hydrocarbons.
