Main piping movement restrainer

1992
PURPOSE: To prevent any damage to a main piping from occurring by welding a restraint lug to a clamp after attaching a pair of half-formed clamps tight to the circumference of the main piping, in a device which restrains any elongation of the main piping due to thermal expansion with an engagement between the restraint lug and a guide member. CONSTITUTION: In order to restrain the (a) directional movement of a main piping 1 by means of a guide member, a pair of half-formed clamps 5 are set up on a surface of the main piping 1, and these clamps are coupled with each other by bolts, thereby making the clamps 5 stick fast to the main piping. A restraint lug 4 is locked to the clamp 5, and this lug 4 is held by a reinforced plate 8 with a clearance (d), while the clamp 5 is held by a mirror keep plate 10 with a clearance (e). In addition, an rotation preventive plate 7 on a joining surface between the clamps 5 themselves is welded to the main piping 1, thereby preventing each clamp 5 form rotation surely. With this constitution, there is no crack happening due to a thermal stress in the main piping 1, thus any movement in the longitudinal direction due to the thermal stress in the main piping 1 is restrained from occurring.
