ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA MTsN 9 AGAM

Abstract. The aims of this study to determine how the ability of students to understand mathematis concepts in class IX.E MTsN 9 Agam. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts and interviews. The data analysis of the ability to understand concepts is described based on the test results of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The results showed that the student’s ability to understand mathematics concepts was classified as medim and low criteria. On medium criteria for indicators restate the concept with a percentage of 76% and the indicator applies the concept or problem solving algorithm with a percentage of 75%. On the low criteria, the indicators classify objects according to certain properties with a percentage of 44%, the indicators provide examples and non-concept examples with a percentage of 50%, the indicators present the concept in the form of a mathematical representation with a percentage of 43% and the indicators develop the necessary or sufficient concept requirements with a percentage of 41%. Keywords : Ability to understand mathematical concepts Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan pemhaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IX.E MTsN 9 Agam. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan wawancara. Analisis data kemampuan pemahaman konsep dideskripsikan berdasarkan hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa tergolong dalam kriteria sedang dan rendah. Pada kriteria sedang untuk indikator menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep dengan persentase sebesar 76% dan indikator mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pemecahan masalah dengan persentase sebesar 75%. Pada kriteria rendah untuk indikator mengklasifikasikan objek-objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu sesuai dengan konsepnya dengan persentase sebesar 44%, indikator memberikan contoh dan non contoh dari konsep dengan persentase sebesar 50%, indikator menyajikan konsep dalam bentuk representasi matematis dengan persentase sebesar 43% dan indikator mengembangkan syarat perlu atau syarat cukup suatu konsep dengan persentase sebesar 41%.
