Islam and family planning.

1989
Sex education in Moslem countries should be taught by both families and schools within the context of Islamic ideology and teachings. When the facts about sex are so taught couples will not be reluctant to seek answers to questions about sexual problems they may encounter in family planning. Couples should seek counseling and full disclosure about contraceptive methods. Through such counseling they can engage more freely in sexual relations without fear of unwanted pregnancies. Family planning counselors should explain the advantages and disadvantages of various contraceptives and should help couples choose the most appropriate method. Doctors and nurses also need to be properly trained in the medical aspects of the family planning services they provide. Women need to have good knowledge of the physiology and anatomy of the female reproductive system.
