Making a high-index oil from the organic part of Azerbaidzhan petroleum-impregnated sands

Research results are reported on the alternative hydrocracking form of processing for the organic part of bituminous sands in Azerbaidzhan deposits. The proposed method consists of catalytic processing of the a-olefins (oct-1-ene). In this way one can obtain highly viscous basic oils, which can be used to prepare semisynthetic oiling media for general purposes.
