Optimization of the mold parameters for casting of flat copper ingots in semicontinuous casting machines

A new mold design is proposed to decrease the number of defects in flat copper ingots cast in a semicontinuous casting machine. This design implies 1.5- to 2.5-mm concavity of the internal surface of wide plate faces in the upper part of the mold that decreases to zero in its bottom rectangular part.
