Peripheral Circulation in Hypertensive Pregnancy

The blood flow through the hands, feet, calf of the leg, and forearm is essentially the same during pregnancy and the puerperium in normal women, and in women with mild or severe toxaemia of pregnancy or essential hypertension. The resistance to flow of blood through the limbs is, however, raised.
