Influence of Heat Treatment Structure of 45 Steel on Birefringence

The transverse wave velocity of the 45 steel was measured by the sing-around method.The result of experiment showed the 45 steel with different heat treatment had different structures and different birefringences.It was found that the fine evengrained steel had little birefringence,otherwise had large birefringence.
