Shower reconstruction in the CLUE experiment

AbstractTheCLUEexperimentstudiesprimarycosmicraysðE 2TeVÞ bydetectingUV(190–230nm)Cherenkovlightproducedbyatmosphericshowers.SinceatmosphericabsorptionintheUVrangeishigherthaninthevisiblerange,CLUEcannotapplyalgorithmsnormallyusedinIACT 1 experimentstodetermineprimarycosmic-raydirection.Inthispaper,wepresentanewmethoddevelopedbyCLUE.Thealgorithmperformanceswereevaluatedusingsimulatedshowers.Preliminaryresultsofthesourceanalysisusingthisnewmethodareshown.# 2001ElsevierScienceB.V.Allrightsreserved.
