Essential oil constituents of Ruta chalepensis plants grown in India

Essential oil of leaves, flowers and whole plants of Ruta chalepensis was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Sixteen compounds were identified from the oil. The oil yield was maximum (0.26%) from the upper leaves while the major constituent 2 - undecanone was found to be highest (67.84%) in flowers.
