A stereoselective access to a ferrocene-based planar chiral triazolium salt

Abstract The first synthesis of a triazolium salt with ferrocene-based planar chirality is described. It was obtained from enantiopure Kagan's acetal, via the construction of a lactam intermediate. The corresponding 1,2,4-triazolylidene-Cu(I) complex was prepared. Its structure as well as the parent triazolium salt were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis.
