Prospección geofísica y geomecánica del valle del Trueba (Cordillera Cantábrica): estructura del relleno sedimentário del fondo del valle glaciar

2007
The large glaciated valleys of the Iberian Peninsula are located in the southern part of the Pyreneean-cantabric range, mostly in northern part of the Ebro basin. A common geomorphological feature in these glaciated valleys is the existence of glacial overdeepened basins in their medium and lower sections. Vertical Electrical resistivity Soundings where done and have been complemented by seismic soundings. Three geoelectrical units can be recognized, same units as those studied basins from the Pyrenees by Bordonau (1992). The seismic survey show us the existence of consolidated layers above the intermediate unit. Taking into account these new data, the intermediate geoelectrical unit here is considered to be glaciolacustrine infilling attributed to a glacial retreat, and overriden by a new glacier advance attributed to the last glacial cycle
