1992
Summary A case of encephalitis due to cryptococcus was diagnosed in a 18 years old woman, in Abidjan. The diagnosis was assessed by the presence of cryptococcus in the CSF. Despite a treatment with amphotericin B (0.5 mg/kg/day), she died 28 days after the initiation of the treatment. There was no identified risk factor, and particularly, the serology for HIV was negative.
