Principe et performances des systèmes MIMO en radiocommunications mobiles

2007
MIMO technology is an attractive solution to come up to the increase of the data transfer rate due to the development of the multimedia services in wireless communication systems. It promises a linearly increase of data transfer rate in function of the antennas number at the transmitter and at the receiver by exploiting the antenna network diversity and the multi-path propagation. In practice, MIMO performances are weaker than the expected one. They depend on the antenna characteristics (losses and radiation pattern), the signal processing with the channel knowledge at the transmitter side, and the path number of the propagation environment.
