Avaliação do grau de conhecimento sobre a anestesia tumescente no Brasil

Tumescence is a recent regional anesthesia technique that has been employed in veterinary medicine because it is safe and practical, but veterinarians still lack knowledge about its use. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of the technique of tumescent anesthesia in the national territory and the way it is performed in patients undergoing mastectomy. The evaluation was conducted through a questionnaire with 8 retrospective questions available online, where professionals from all over the country had free access to answer. The results show that the southeast region is the one that most performs the technique with the Klein cannula and has a greater knowledge about the instruments, which may be justified by presenting a larger number of studies on tumescence.
