Loss reduction of permanent magnet synchronous machines based on three-level structure

The three-level inverter structure is widely used in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) control system. Additional loss is produced when the speed of the PMSM drive system is changed due to the common id=0 control strategy. A control strategy which can reduce the loss in dynamic process based on three-level structure is proposed. This method can maintain the superiority of the three level structure, while reducing the additional loss. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by the simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink platform.
