Strategy for Improving Medical Staff's Awareness Involving in Nosocomial Infection Prevention

OBJECTIVE To sufficiently improve the medical staff′s awareness in regard to their participation in nosocomial infection(NI) control and prevention.METHODS The basic knowledge was publicized the public promotion week,the basic skills into the skill competition activities.RESULTS Totally 54 clinical departments,27 other departments with a total number of 2483 people,accounting for 75.0% of the hospital,were involved in this activity.The medical staff′s awareness to participate to the NI control have been significantly mobilized through this activity.In the test for hand hygiene compliance,the compliance of the doctors increased form 16.3% to 36.4%,by 20.1% increased,and the compliance of the nurse increased from 24.6% to 37.5%,by 12.9% increased.CONCLUSION The prevention and control of nosocomial infection need the common participation of the medical staff,to improve the awareness of the medical staff can promote the further development of NI control.
