Comparing operational value of CSP with TES to PV with battery storage in Australian national electricity market

2017
The increasing use of Photovoltaic panels (PVs) in residential areas may likely lead to addition of central electric energy storage (EESs) by retailers for load transfer capabilities. Such arrangement can provide flexibility for grid by shifting stored energy over the time. Likewise, the dispatchability of concentrated solar power (CSP) with thermal energy storage (TES) will have the same impact on the electricity network. This paper proposes method and assessing process to compare and examine the difference between the impacts of the two noted schemes.
